Flashbacks & Videography

Over the last little while, my family & I have been talking about being better documenters, and one thing we've never really gotten into has been capturing our family through video. I only have a hand full of videos I've made and it's been a bit of a goal to tap into documenting life through motion picture. Videography is a medium I so admire, I love that you can keep watching moments in real time, and that it opens incredible doors up for creativity. I finally set up a YouTube channel, where I'll be slowly adding videos from past & present and I'll have a little page on here for our little family films and such. But watching this video I made when I traveled to California has completely reignited the spark of interest in putting family films together (especially since this trip was the starting point of Brian & I dating) I guess I want major life changes and just the happy simplicities of day to day life in a form that captures the emotion and heart and soul. I think with photos sometimes we put up this facade with perfectly styled images and photoshop, and not that there's anything wrong with that, but when it comes to embracing what my family is made of I guess I'm looking to get back to the real and raw, as well as push myself creatively since videography is a type of media I'm not fluent in.
