Three hundred feet above the ground, we ventured out and walked the remains of the Kinzua Bridge, constructed in 1882 this magnificent bridge — also at one point considered to be the tallest bridge in the world — was destroyed and ripped from the ground in 2003 due to a tornado. In between taking photos and standing up, my dad's glasses slipped through the railroad ties, we watched it dance in the wind, dropping those massive three hundred feet until we couldn't see them anymore. After climbing down the steep face of the hill, my dad and Brian located the glasses in the brush below the train tracks after what might have been thirty minutes. Some might say it was just a fluke of a coincidence but for me it was a tender mercy and miracle that will stay with us for a very long time.
